To remove the steering wheel, remove the center cap and then remove the nut. You do not have to remove the hex screws.

Yes, the wheel does need to come off, but you only have to remove the allen screws to remove it. Very simple.

It does have thumb screws to remove the pod but i was wondering about how to remove the steering wheel to get better access. it has one nut under the cap in the middle or the hex screws on the wheel itself.

Do you have a picture? A lot of the older ones have the 4 thumbscrews, then you can lift the whole pod up.

I have to replace the gauges with replacement gauges but am unsure of how to access the dash. i see screws holding the dash on but guess i need to remove the steering wheel also. do i need to remove the center nut under the cap or the hex screws in the steering wheel itself. any other helpful info would be appreciated by anyone that has done this before. Thanks
