The green wire is the ground and it goes on one of the nuts that fastens the plate of the sending unit.

Took out the gas tank last fall. Just getting started to put back in. I have a green & a red wire to connect to the sending unit. which wire is the ground. Or which wire do you connect to the sending unit. I don't want to connect wrong & mess something up.
