Thanks for asking for a further explaination. From the sound of it, ether the packing in the gland is gone or there's another problem!

Can you explain a little further? Is it coming from the packing gland? The short section of black hose that connects the packing gland to the shaft log? Or from the fiberglass around the shaft log?

Like from the giant brass nut area? If so you either need to tighten down the capnut(called the stuffing box) more or you need to repack it with new stuffing rope. It should drip a few drops a minute and no more. This is the most likely culprit, however the rubber hose below it can also leak if it gets a tear or a hose clamp comes loose.

looking for some help with water coming in from around the shaft . I can see it coming in where the shaft go out the bottom of the boat.
