Maybe you could find some teak strips to replace the plastic strips.

You already have teak walk strips on the nose, so it might go together well.

I don't think you can purchase new plastic trim. I've never seen that anywhere. I'd look into restoring the plastic. There are quite a few commercial products out there. Back to black (I'm not overly impressed, but it works for a while) is available widely. I keep thinking of trying something like Black Wow. If you do, let me know how it works.

I'm not sure that I understand your question. The screws are holding down a piece of plastic trim and screw right into fiberglass. Nothing else, besides those screws, can rust.

IF I read between the lines a bit I think you want to clean things up a little bit before your weekend. Once you pull those screws the black plastic pieces just come off. They have nothing to do with the upholstery. There is bound to be some built-up dirt around that area. I'd suggest just using some cleaner (Simple Green, perhaps) to clean up the fiberglass and the plastic trim. Reinstall with your new screws and enjoy.

If you want to do more, you'll need some rubbing compound, finishing compound, wax and a couple of hours. Search this site for words like "restoring gelcoat".

I recently purchased a clean 1994 Ski Nautique from the NE USA (a boat that shows no apparent signs of being in salt water) but, as crazy as it sounds, I have not taken delivery of this boat as of yet. I plan on restoring this boat to its "like new" condition and am developing a plan to do so. I hope to get much help from those on this forum as to that endeavor, perhaps even a "mentor" to help guide this process. Anyone interested?

Quick question, note the rusty "upholstery seem" screws shown in the attached picture (link is provided below). Right off the bat I want to replace those screws. What size are they, how many do I need to do both sides (left and right), and where can I obtain these, part #? I am going to run the boat for about a week before beginning my restoration and just don't want to look at those rusty screws! Thanks in advance.

I am looking for a definitive answer from a current 1994 Nautique owner, you see, I am having this boat delivered to a lake house in a fairly rural location and had hoped to have the correct screws in hand in order to swap them out (I won't have much of an opportunity to hit up a local hardware store or West Marine) ... would be most appreciative if someone could provide this information (perhaps even a part # for them for West Marine) so that I can obtain them before I "meet" my new boat (new to me)!
