Ron,
I feel you will be OK. There are times when many will mix the two together and in fact, when you buy a "semi synthetic" that's exactly what the lube guys do. I have done searches that reviled it's not a problem. The key is the ZDDP!!!! |

Any difference between VR1 20/50 and VR1 SYNTHETIC 20/50 other than price? Going through winterization and mistakenly mixed 2 qts of each. Have always used the conventional in the past because consensus was ZDDP levels were good. Assumed the different bottle colors was just a marketing thing until I read closer. If there is a real difference (particularly zinc content), I have no problems draining and refilling, just want to confirm either way. Didn't find too much on a google search other than the hot-rod guys.
