The cooling water jacket is separate from the exhaust cavity in the manifolds. The water doesn't enter the exhaust until the risers or exhaust elbow. |

Thats exactly what I thought, but then it occurred to me that an exhaust valve may be open allowing antifreeze to enter one of the cylinders. |

I do, I can feel a space below the level of the drain plug on the manifolds. I pour till a little comes out the exhaust in back, that also mixes some in where the mufflers could collect water. It certainly cant do any harm, better safe than sorry.

For thousands of years men have felt the irresistible urge to go to sea, and many of them died. Things got better after they invented boats.

This is my first time winterizing my 1982 barefoot. I drained all the water from the engine block and exhaust manifolds and refilled with rv antifreeze. I also refilled the exhaust manifolds with antifreeze, is this necessary? Does anyone else do this?
