Can you get master codes from a a dealer using Hull ID? I know on the automotive side you can get that kind of info from a dealer using Vehicle Identification Number.

Hi, tnx!
In Sweden, Stockholm area, it is about +2 C, first snow arrived thursday. All the boats are up, or is ongoing at the time, the winter is here.... and the water is cold!
Rather short season for boating and watersports, but lovely winters with lots of snow...

Yes even with the battery removed, your primary and secondary codes are stored in EEPROMs inside the dash unit and probably kept active with capacitors, if you touch the basttery cables together with the batterys disconnected, you will discharge the capacitors and the codes will be lost. Then you will need to know the master code to reinstall your codes. The master is hard programmed into the dash unit and can not be changed.

There are three types of codes for the keypad. The master embedded code, which is not changeable, primary user code and the secondary user code. My manual doesn't mention anything about loosing the code if the battery is disconnected. It does mention not to let the cables touch or ground out, that will kill the keypad. The two changeable codes are easy to do, and if you change the primary code, the secondary is erased.

Hi, does the code, My personal, remain, if I take the battery out for the Winter?
Or do I have to know the master code?
( the boat is pre-used and former owner gave me a minimum of documentation....)
Grateful for some answers
/ Joe
