I have pictures of my Dad and a wood boat he pulled out of a burn pile (before they burnt it!), he refurbished it and found an old Evenrude to put on it. I can remember riding on it in diapers ('67ish) I'll try to find them.
My Sister said me finding this SN reminded her of that.

looks familiar does it?

that was the very first C/C in our club I believe. was a big boat..wildcat maybe? my brother will know. loud & fast in a straight line as I remember.

I think that is me (at the wheel) my brother (standing) & our Mom in the back seat in Bill's Slickcraft.

John: Found another pic' of the Slickcraft....looks like from a ski show in July of 1970 and it looks like Holiday Lakes. I see why we thought it was white... was blue sides and white deck!! Pretty cool for the day!! I think the lighter blue boat was our first Correct Craft...the Miller/Waldbauer "Playmate".

Here is the only known picture of the 1969 Slickcraft with a 100hp Mercury. Learned to 'foot behind this boat but shortly discovered Correct Crafts and there was no turning back!!

Alright John I think I finally got the Lone Star "up" for you...turns out it was a 1964, not a '65. Brandi helped me and we did NOT use photobucket. I still think I prefer photobucket but have yet to remember the proper sequence. I may have to hunt for that old "how to" thread.

And even further....my family's been on the lake for 8 generations. The last Indian family in the area lived on my great-great-great-great grandfathers land (vineyards); so I guess we've witnessed advances from the "canoe". My great-grandfather was also a purser on one of the big paddlewheels that used to ply the lake picking up grapes from the vineyards. Then came the inboards.....

Father and Grandfather sure look alike. Same hair line on them 2 guys. Lucky me and you got Mom's hair..not Dad's!

as to photobucket;

I am not having any trouble getting my pics on but they do seem to be larger than before & I don't know how to resize. Will wait on the Slickcraft pic. Wish I could get the one out of me & you on the Lone Star..its a hoot. Couple of nice pics in that group..one of me, you & Kathie (!) sitting at a picnic table that I have no idea where we were. Early ski club trip I'd guess. But where?

On a side note. The son of the Aristocraft owner has a shop about four miles from my house. His name is Billy Turner. He restores, and I think, artistically creates new wooden Aristocraft boats in his shop. His wife, Gail Turner, grew up on my street. Her cousin John is my best freind. Gail is the former president of the ACBS Int'l.

Jeff, yes there were a lot of Aristocrafts running around "back in the day".
In fact, the first boat I ever skiid behind was an Aristocraft (not the one pictured above). It was Easter weekend on Lanier. An early Easter in late March. I was determined to get on skis. It was COLD....and it was FUN. That hardtop came in handy that cloudy, cold day.
That picture above was taken in the late summer of '76. That is the summer I worked at Lanier Harbor Marina on Lanier. They were a new Correct Craft dealer. Managed by a close family friend. That was my first introduction to Correct Craft and the Ski Nautique. That is when my love affair with these boats began.

Hi Jim, great photo. Gotta love the Aristocraft!, great hull design.
Sheriff Patrol used 'em on our lake in NY for years. Sliding hardtop great feature for their use in NY, can't imagine it as a plus here in GA.

    John:
Thanks to Larry and his advice to go back to the original photobucket I have managed to scan pictures of both the Lone Star and the Slickcraft and have them at photobucket. Now I just have to remember [or get Brandi to help] how to get them attached to my CCF post. Stand by...will get it eventually!!

Bruce, I asked my Aunt (my dad's little sister, now 85) If she had any recollections. She thought it was their dad's (my grandfather's) boat and that the picture may have been taken around 1950 in Hollywood florida. I knew my grandparents wintered for years down in florida and that for many of those years he kept a woody inboard down there (I recall some old videos I am going to try to track down.) That looks more like upstate NY than Hollywood FL to me though, so even if they did have their inboard in FL as early as 1950, I am not sure that is what this is of.

I have a very cool photo of me and you in the Lone Star but it is in the book Sharon & you made me from Mom's old pics. Would hate to try to take it out & mess it up. Just went & looked at it again tonight...geez we look young! Know what else I'd like to see? Got a pic scaned of the Slickcraft?
Last time I can remember Dad on skis was..I think..the first time we went to Lake James in 1963. On 2 skis. I remember 'cause we had that light green chevy 4 door. Did you ever pull him?

Bruce's story reminds me of other stories told on here that typically have a line something like "hey, hold my beer and watch this."

Well, they did take a lot of poetic license with that movie, but nonetheless it's one of my favorites. One of those that I will have to watch if I find it while flipping channels.
