M3 - It doesn't hurt to ask!

I did read the PN posts referring to using the the PP paddle wheel signal for the speedo. What this does is cement the need for adding Perfect Pass!!!

My wife is thrilled....

M3,

I don't know what the formal policy is, but I've not heard of anyone being denied. I heard tale of one owner who was denied at the dealer, so he took them out and sent to the manufacturer who provided the new set. No questions asked.

BTW - got my boat back last week - 4th set. BKH

I'll also mention a PN member "Rick" replaced his gauges with the analog kit. Apparently it ties into the PP paddlewheel for speed instead of the pitots. If you search PN there is some good info about this.

So, even though I am not the original owner of my boat, if the gauges go out, they will still be replaced for free?!? No way...

GAZZAB4

I may be able to help you soon. Like BKH, I've been through multiple sets of the teleflex guages (and now keep a log of hours in the owner's manual....). Teleflex has been great, no question, but I'm finally tired of the hassle and ordered some Faria guages.

The tach (with integral hourmeter) should be no problem - but I'm not sure about the speedo yet. The original teleflex used an electric signal from a sensor instead of running the pitot tubes all the way to the dash. I may have to do that to make the new one work.

If you want to stay with the original teleflex guages - try this number:
1-800-281-7543
That's the number I had for their warranty coordinator.

GazzaB4,

Known problem with those digital guages. I'm on my third set in my 2001 Super Air, and just last weekend, I noticed that another is out. Even the slightest moisture knocks out some of the digital display.

The guages have a lifetime warranty. Unfortunately, they changed the colors. My originals had a black ring, the replacements have grey rings. They look fine, but all the other guages on my dash have black rings.

The biggest PITA with the replacements is that the hour meter gets replaced each time. My current hour meter says 173, but the boat has about 400 on it.

The latest fix seems to be to replace the guages with the new Faria guages. I've not looked into how difficult it is because I haven't minded replacing. My boat has a perfect pass which gives me Speed and RPM readings. There are several threads on Planetnautique.com about folks who have replaced with the Faria Guages.

Welcome to Correct Craft Fan Gary. I personnaly can't help you much but I would tend to think that you'd be better off with what you have instead of trying to swap it over to analogue. Airguide speedo's were the best out there and are no longer in business. They are still out there but sometimes hard to come by.

Most problems with members boats on this site are on the older correct crafts. I haven't seen to many questions asked on here that involve newer boats. Have you tried planetnautique.com? Most of those guys on that site gear more towards the new/newer CC's and might have seen or experienced the same problem you are having. Maybe one of the guys here can give you some insight on the problem you have. There is alot of boat knowledge here and folks here will help you out as best as they can. Congrats again and welcome.

I've recently purchased a low hour 2000 sport nautique. The digital tach and speedo were not working. Dealer agreed to replace, but seems to be getting no joy from Correct Craft. He has a 2001 sport with a similar problem. I've heard this was a common problem, but don't know if there was a recall or factory fix. As these guages had multiple funcions, I'm reluctant to fit single funcion analogue guages. Anybody help?
