Pete, Yes many of the home wood turning community dry green wood rough turnings in microwaves too....RF/MW drying has been round for years, some kiln drying ovens for timber uses it too....I’m finding the Dinford quite handy for heating wood to bend (you may need to soak some woods it’s all down to moisture content) you can move back and forth along the stack of strips heating as the heat retains longer deep inside the wood stack......Its also setting most glues real quick.

Roger,
After I restored my 48 wood lathe, I wanted to try some green wood turning as I had never done it before plus the blanks are real cheap. You rough turn, microwave and then turn again to get it round again. Well after starting one on fire, I went back to dry seasoned wood!!

Just for reference this is what happens if you run a Dinford on full power for 10min none stop......this was green oak.....its dry now, Defrost setting is the way to go.

You will find Dinfords are great at killing bacteria too so rot spores will be zapped as well.

I'm spraying 9000 wooden Coat/trouser hangers in a white wash for a UK brand at the moment hope to finish today....gives you lots of time to think of things for 12 hours.

I see with the feed back we now have a Global Brand on our hands,many here are Dinford experts.... Don't forget how better to show you care buy a new one for the one you love...she thinks you think of her for once instead of the boat and you get a Dinford base Kit.
