Yeah they replaced the carb but they don't water test the boats. I doubt they even put it in gear. But then I again I never suspected shift cable issues bc the old carb was so whack. I'm was glad it was a minor adjustment bc it was rather annoying and dangerous.

The dealerships here sure took a tank. When CC changed hands it was the end of an era. I will say Orlando Nautiques have been much better to us than Southeast Marine was but nothing compared to when the original Southeast CC was around.

Did the dealer actually replace the carb? Didn't they even bother to check and test the cable adjustments? Maybe that's why some dealership changes have been made in your area?

I had the same issue when I first bought my '76. Loading on trailer was a pain. Replaced the carb at a CC dealer. Assuming 351 with carb --

Have you tried to adjust the idle?

Most of the time it is a vacuum leak. Try tightening the carb hex nuts. Another trick is to spray carb cleaner at all possible leak paths - the engine will slow down if you find a leak with that.

Really need to provide more info, motor and specs, boat yr, etc.

Boat is idling high in neutral. Hits hard when you go into gear or reverse do to it idling high. Im not much of a mechanic but have tools and common since. Can someone help me in the right direction? Thanks!!
