Yes Pete the last 2 days the site has lost some performance. Maybe a compression check is required.

Likewise, extrememely slow, in fact this is the first time all day the site has even opened for me, and it's not my computer because it flies right thru everything else all day long.
Keith, it's such a great site. Is it a money issue? I have no idea how much it'd cost to upgrade the servers/etc or how many regular users there are, but if 200 sent you just 25 bucks that's give you $5000 to play with, is that enough? If you need it, throw out some real numbers, can't hurt to ask... CCFan saves us all so much in the long run, pitching in is a no-brainer. Just a thought. Keep up the good work. |

Thank you guys! Your observation on not being able to post more than one line was a huge clue. I was easily able to duplicate that scenario which pointed me in the right direction.
At first I figured someone had used SQL Injection to somehow restrict the character limits on the message field. However, upon further investigation (and Lewy's comment) I determined it might be a data storage issue. I deleted some old tables that I was no longer using and also requested additional storage capacity be added to the SQL server. Looks like we're all fixed now. Please let me know if you have any additional problems. I will be deleting this post later today if I don't hear of any further issues. Thank you for your patience, -Keith |

Was finally able to post in engine repair section by starting with a two line post. Then edited numerous times adding a line each time. Keith hope it helps with diagnosing problem.
I did get a message back basically saying to make room in the database. |

Still unable to create a new topic or post anything that has more than two lines...

Testing 1234 . . . I wonder if it is just this topic section that works. Never mind, seems to be random!

I think a lot of our troubles were related to the email issue. As you know, every post generates thousands of emails.

Keith does this in his spare time. It's a hobby, not a job. He has a job and a family that come first. I don't think anyone has any room to complain at all, nor am I sure that any of us guests in Keith's home are in any position to tell him what he "needs" to do.

Keith,
Sorry but I need to say this. I feel you need an IT guy to take over. For years, the members have told you they will support the cost. I feel this is still true. |
