Why don't you just go to Hurrikane and get the complete kit. You will update the engine and you will know it will fit. BTW, here's a proper link to the pump. |

You might be able to rebuild yours.See if it has the brand and any numbers cast into it. The get ahold of these guy's and see if they have a kit. I did this with my Ford pump,it works great.

Hey I did just find a plug in my intake I can use to run the fuel vent line to. I have found some pumps that look just like this one but they are automotive and dont have the vent in case it fails. The one on Amazon # M60980 says it will fit this application and looks similar but arm is slightl different. I think it will bolt up, just not sure about volume and pressure.

Check with Hurrikain marine too.
Fuel pump at Hurrikane It even has the flame arrestor and hose to go with the marine pump. |

Are you questioning whether the one I linked to would work? Because it looks the same as the (original) one installed on my '70 273. If memory serves, its the same as the '72 318 I kept at the dock last summer too. The link says it works for all pre '75 LA/LM Chryslers and I have no reason to doubt it.
Post a picture of yours if youre skeptical and we'll tell you what we see. |

Marine Parts Source has a lot of the older Chrysler parts. Looks to be a standard Sierra part- might want to google the part number and see if you can find it cheaper? |

does anyone have a part # or advice on a fuel pump? I have searched high and low and am not even sure if i'm ordering the right one. It looks close to it and is updated with a vent. However, how are you supposed to know if its the right volume or pressure? I don't want to slap somthing on that will make it run rich or lean. It's a 1972 318
says chrysler 225 on valve cover. I'm looking alll over the internet, calling dealers and just getting no where. thanks. |

Yeah, I realize the safe guard put in place for the updated pump. I think to myself that it was manufactured with that style pump however. I would install the amazon pump if I knew for certain it would work. I cannot find a place to drill on the carb either to run the line to. I am curious if anyone knows where to get a flame arrestor with the nipple built on it?

Your links don't work but, I will say NEVER use an automotive fuel pump on a marine application. If an automotive pump diaphragm fail, you may end up with a bilge full of gas.

I don't know if those links are working or not. The part number for the automotive type is gm6270 and is on summit racing. The marine app is M60980 and is on amazon.

Fuel pump started leaking and I'm looking for a replacement. I know this has been discussed here before but havn't found any part numbers. I have located this http://www.amazon.com/Carter-M60980-Mechanical-Fuel-Pump/dp/B001G151MO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1368917136&sr=8-1&keywords=m60980 and this one http://www.summitracing.com/search?keyword=gm6270&dds=1. I know I should use a updated vented pump that is routed to the carb but I'm not sure if it's the right one. The one from summit however looks identical. Can anyone offer some advice?
