good call on the guilty party being the heater. Finally had to crawl up under the bow and bypass it. Problem gone. Not sure when it would have frozen since it has been winterized prior to cold snap hitting since I have owned the boat so maybe it just hit the end of it's lifespan.
Certainly don't need the heater right now so I will wait until fall or next spring to replace. Thanks. |

I believe the battery boxes typically have a drain to the bilge. If it has one, make sure it is clear of debri so that any water that gets to the battery box can drain out to the bilge.

You may want to just disconnect the heater & see if the water issue goes away.

Snobsessed, yes I do have the heater in the bow. Boat gets winterized including anti freeze into the heater core until it runs out the other hose and is stored in a garage in the winter.
ny nautique, it is outside in the summer but the issue didn't really seeem to coincide with rain. There was no rain this past weekend. I will track it in the future tho. i will look into the heater and see if I notice any leaks. Definitely not the easiest place to get access to. Thanks for the ideas. |

I have a 2001 SN196. Last summer near the endof season I started to get wet carpet under the spooter seat. After checking things out there was a lot of water in the battery box and I tihnk it was slopping over the top and running on the carpeting during boat operation.
I emptied it out a couple of more times but it kept occuring. Battery was not leaking to cause it. First time out this past weekend and it did it again. I never seem to have a lot of water in the bilge but when it moves around is it possible it is coming in through the grommet the battery cables do? See picture. Not sure why this started when previous 5 yrs there were no issues. Thoughts?
