Yes I'm 11th from the right, standing. I only ski'd with them for 2 summers as a teenager.

Thank Tim. Jim, How about filling us in with more information? What club is it and the year? Are you in the picture? Was the boat one of CC's leases? |

So technically you were the first person I met via the CCFan site, lol.
Terry, if it's on the trailer the campground launch will be a great spot to leave it, plenty of room and many of us there to keep on eye on it. Of course you will need to leave the keys so we can guard it properly |

I'm expecting you to be at Green Lake Terry. If I can come 2/3 across the country, you can drive and hour. Look forward to seeing you.

Well it came home today. I went and looked at it a few weeks back and made an offer. He had a bunch of lookers but no buyers. It has a few smaller issues I would like to straighten up and have it at Green Lake if possible.
Thanks to the forums for the heads up. |

I went and looked at this boat tonight. There as with most of these boats Pro's and Con's. For starters this IS a Show Nautique NO QUESTION. When he bought the boat it was out of the Madison area which is what I figured. This boat was bought by JR or the Rock Aqua Jays and used in their shows until sometime in the mid 80's when it was purchased by a local family on our ski team. They knew what it was due to the team having the White / Grey / Black one I am still in search of. Much to my dismay when he got it the striping was not bright enough for him so his local fiberglass guy suggested sanding and rubbing the old stuff off and adding vinyl graphics to it. On the flip side he had enough smarts to snap pictures of it before this happened. He was nice enough to let me dig thru the folder of past owners and slips ETC for purchases of parts and services over the years. In that mess (Good type) I found a bunch of the stills he had taken. I got to ride in and ski behind this boat in the mid 80's for it to turn up in my backyard 25 years later. The Bad..... Stringers are toast with a lot of mush in the rear extending into the area covered by carpet, the motor box was re built from the one that was rotting away 15 years ago, New one is nice and seems solid. A lot of bad mods have been made over the years like a lot of these we see, Now has an electric fuel pump and gotta love the Auto HEI ignition in it. I did get the opportunity to spin it on the local lake he lives near and this thing still gets up and boogies. GPS on my phone put us at 49 with no issues at all. I know the boat had the motor re built a number of years back by guys at the local tech school. If you want a VERY RARE project this is it. If you want a ready to run boat you will want to keep searching. I was very torn on this as I have been searching for years to find one only to have doubts about being able to take it back to where I would want to see it. Have any questions you want answered in person feel free to call me 608 669 6537
Terry Now onto the pics ! P.S. Finally located one of them ! |
