And don't pay more to anyone for a custom match unless you take them the boat. If thats your only repair, you might just want to take it to someone and have them do it after you sand and buff. Right now a quart of gel from MiniCraft is 135 + tints |

I've had good results color matching my Dresden Blue with the Evercoat gelcoat repair kit. You can buy it at West Marine if there's one near you, or at a more reasonable price at JamestownDistributors.com.
Many of us have had good luck wetsanding and then polishing the gelcoat. Try it on a small spot to see how it works. You should be able to bring that back to life. Welcome to the site and Correct Craft ownership! |

After nearly 30 years of potential fading, youre looking at a custom color match regardless of whether you can determine the original color or not. That can be a little tricky, but nothing a little trial and error cant fix- if you have a good eye, you should be able to get pretty close.
The original color options for '85 are shown in the brochure in the CCF Reference Section... its a great resource. Welcome to the site! |

Hi,
First post, new SN owner. I just purchased my first Ski Nautique. It's a 1985 2001. The boat is solid but needs cosmetic help. It was one of those Craigslist, I lost my job, first one with cash gets it today deals.... Anyway, first step is going to be to sand and buff the hull and install new pin striping and decals. I'm hoping it will clean up OK. The top and bottom are real nice but the sides are beat. As you can see in the pic, there is a chunk of gelcoat missing on the back corner near the "1" in 2001. A couple questions: 1) What are the available colors for the 85? Mine appears to be grey and burgundy. 2) Anyone know a source or pre-colored gelcoat patch? I looked online and it seems Spectrum only has a Burgundy in gallons. 3) Has anyone had anyluck trying to match this color by hand? How hard is it? Any tips? Thanks for the great forum. Chuck 1985 SN |
