I have a lakehouse on Lake June (actually Lake Henry, connected) in Lake Placid, and it is a lovely sandy bottom recreational lake. I am not aware of any true campsites either on Lake June or Lake Placid, but Lake June has two small cabin-type outfits which might work for you. One is Pratt's Resort and the other is Lake June Vacation Resort (863) 465-3546, the latter with no real internet presence that I can find, but it is on par with Pratts. Both seem to stay fairly busy year round.
If we find toothy critters, we certainly send them over to Istokpoga where they are much happier. Green, mucky, shallow, icky - they love it over there, and you'd never catch me in those waters. They leave us alone, as long as our skiing form is acceptable. |

I'm thinking about tent camping early fall on a lake. Which lake Im no sure about. Thats where you come in.
Can anyone suggest a good camp site or cabin rental place? Wife, dog, three kids, boat. Im in Naples / Marco Island so the closer the better. I cant find any place on Placid and Istakpoga seems to be a little thick with green toothy critters. True? Not true? Any suggestions would be great. thanks. |
