Thanks. It looks like I'll need to use a mirror as it's hard to get at from that angle. I was thinking I may be able to get closer by removing the walls and bracket from the other side.

On my 04 SV211 it is on the port side under the exhaust manifold toward the back of the engine.

Basically, you take the port ending side walls out from the walk-thru and then look at all the hoses in the bilge under the port side of the engine. You will see some white pumps, which are for the ballast tanks, which have a hose going in and coming out. There is a red-topped one that only has a hose coming out that is the bilge pump.

It has two metal spring hold down clips that can be released and the pump will come out. The base is screwed to the floor and has a screen that should be checked and cleaned.

The output of mine had broken off where the hose clamps to it, so the pump would run but just spit the water back into the bilge.

How did you access the rear bilge pump?

Wow, that is a complete pain to get to. Can only get one hand in and not easy to see.

Managed to figure it out. The outlet hose had broken off and the barb from the pump was still stuck into the hose. So the pump was running, but was just pumping water back into the bilge.

I managed to pull it apart and will order a replacement. It should go in easier now that I know how to find it and get to it.

Oh, the screen was also a mess, so cleaned it out... hopefully can just put the top of the new pump into the bottom of the old that is screwed down into place... that will be much easier than pulling that piece out.

The rear bilge is on the same circuit as the front. and The pump it self is in a ugly spot under the muffler in front of the rudder port. Some times these pumps just need their cups cleaned out or their is too much debris built up on the screen. the pump is readily available at places like west marine or on line however these pumps look identical but have three wires instead of two. http://www.jamestowndistributors.com/userportal/product.do?part=4737&engine=adwords!6456&keyword=product_ad&type=pla

While I was at the CT mini this weekend doing a (slightly overloaded) surf run, we took a bunch of water in through the back vents. This seemed to point out the problem that my front bilge pump works fine, but in the back there was nothing.

Honestly, I couldn't see the location of the pump, and am assuming it is in some horrible place like under the engine. Anybody know where it is so I can save some time?

Also, is it on a different fuse or circuit that I should check first? I can cycle the front one on, but we don't hear anything in the back.
