Steve,
When you say "hub", I'n assuming you are referring to the coupling?? Trust me, the ARE system is the way to go!! You may not know this, but the original coupling is a heat shrink to the shaft. That is a PITA to R&R. The ARE avoids that! |

I actually suspect he is right- the Ski Nautique and BFN windshields are most likely the same. I know our '79 BFN uses the same windshield as a SN... and I bet the same goes for early boats (82-86) as well. Heck, even the later boats might swap since they redesigned both decks in '87. It would have made sense from a parts commonality standpoint anyways. A width measurement would most likely confirm.
Im not exactly clear what youre looking for on the shaft... the entire thing (shaft + coupler) or just the shaft? Which style (single taper or dual)? Of course, you can get a brand new set up (or likely even pieces) for an ARE through SkiDIM. I would take the opportunity to dial in your shaft length as well- shoot for a 1/2" gap between the prop hub and strut. CC often erred on the side of too long with their shafts, which is bad for both performance and reliability. |

Not sure if they fit or not .... Never really got to mesure one and see ... I'm missing the top of the front frame and both side windows .... Me and my dad jumped it over a log in 1998 and he took the whole boat apart to keep everything in good condition and after a couple cross country moves things got lost and I have the a.r.e. Shaft and hub but the shaft is bent pretty good

Welcome to the site Steve.
Is your frame on the windshield you have bad? If not you can have your local glass shop cut and temper a piece for it. I don't think a Ski Nautique will fit your Barefoot. I think most of these guys will recommend getting one of the new A.R.E. shafts. |

Hello I am looking for a windshield with frame and side windows for my 84 barefoot nautique ... I believe any frame from 82-86 from a ski nautique will work. I also need a driveshaft with the larger hub and help is greatly appreciated, just trying to restore our family boat from back in the day and these are the last pieces of the puzzle
