Joe,
My '93 Blaster was 80 HP and 350lbs and she would launch off the surf like nobody's business. She had a lot of bottom end and was a 2 stroke, so she hit pretty hard. I'm only 160lbs as well, which may have helped some. I guess it just depends on how you ride. |

ya think? - seems a bit anemic in terms of modern power standards- closer to my 94 spx that was 412 lbs and 85 hp - a nice toy but a year later you could get an xp 800 that was similar in weight but 110 hp. Dont get me wrong a plastic lower dollar machine that is much ligher than most od the modern monsters is a good thing in my book but I would drive one before you plunked down the money 90 hp through a jet might not be all that you hope |

Last night, I went to the Mid Atlantic Boat Show at the Charlotte Convention Center. Mainly to visit The Race City Marine Booth ( Matt and Reid) for Correct Craft / Nautique. There was a ton of those new spark jet skis to look at. Looks like they have gone away from Gel Coated FPR and have gone with solid plastic. It will be interesting to see if other makers follow this design. I did not compare prices to others but it looks like they were able to lower the price with this plastic boat.

Strong is the dark side, resist you must!

For thousands of years men have felt the irresistible urge to go to sea, and many of them died. Things got better after they invented boats.

Because I would be using it on a real lake, I can do my thing and not bother the delicate skiers who can't handle tiny waves.

Man, having a new PWC is going to present some serious dilemmas... Do you take it out in the morning to ruin the glass for the skiers and footers? Or pull some tubers behind the ski boat like usual?

No, no, no. Ski Nautiques are far, far better. Especially the 2001 model. Great waves, great sound, etc.

Anyone hear of the Spark?
Made out of plastic, 900 or 900 HO 4-stroke/4 valve engine options, the deck is screwed to the hull so in 10 minutes, you have unimpeded access to the engine, closed cooling, 405 pound weight, and more. Starting at........$4,999. Mine is around $6,800 so with my $2,000 down payment, I can have a brand new ski for about $140/month for 36 months. My options: 900 HO engine (90HP) IBR (Intelligent Brake and Reverse Convenience package (a storage bin and a step) A cover Amazing. Sea Doo |
