PP 5.x which is on the 2000SN has no hour meter feature. This was added in the later versions.

My 2000SN has 3 hour meters. a mechanical, the one on the Speedo(I upgrades to the Faria guages last year), and one on the perfect pass. I know that the PP was reset when the chip was upgraded but if the boat has the original PP the hour meter there should be accurate. My boat has 1350 hours on it and still runs like new.

Hey, NJC,

Not unusual for the hour meters to be replaced on those boats. I just got my 2001 SAN back from the shop and had it's fourth tach/hour meter installed. The digital guages used are notorious for failure. Luckily they have a life time replacement. Some folks have replaced them with the new faria guages. BTW, just to confirm, M3 is correct. BKH

This is correct. There are GT40's out there with over 5000 hours, no joke. Still run fine. They say it is the best motor ever made. There is no way to tell the actual hours. That said, any boat with a Ford in it can have the hour meter replaced and no-one would ever know. Only the GM EFI motors have hours in the ECM. Then again, the GM motors just seem to have more problems so maybe it is more necessary for them . I just saw a 96 MC get new heads on it with only 260 hours according to the ECM... a lot of good the hours do for you when you need new heads that soon.

I have just purchased a 2000 SN. The hour meter was replace with a new one. When I asked if a dealer could hook up to the engine to tell the hours I was told not with the Ford PCM GT40. Is this correct?
