2005 SANTE tranny question

   I would go with Yessir. Can't hurt to go ahead and service it anyways to verify level and condition of the fluid if it is new to you. I service my BW every season.

	Thanks Zach. So it sounds like its normal for it to vent out a little oil when running hard.

	Oil can turn into vapor when it's hot. The PCV system on your engine (boat and car) are both meant to recirculate oil vapor back into the intake tract so the engine can burn it VS it leaking out. Older diesel engines never had PCV systems and just let the oil vapor out into the air and it would condense in the tube and leak onto the ground. Probably just vapor escaping from hotter extended run times.

	If its an air vent.. why would oil come out then? Too full?

	It's just an air vent. Every thing has it even the rear axle in your truck.

	new boat for me, but after running it for awhile, i checked the tranny and noticed this "spring" button on top of the PCM tranny. It looks like a pressure release valve? But there was a little oil coming out of it from running at high end for a bit (across the lake and back). Runs fine, but trying to figure out if this is some kind of pressure release or the tranny has too much oil and this is its "exit point" or what. The picture is hard to see the "button" I cant find any info on what this little guys does what it is for and why oil would come out of it.
