   First of all, I would NOT be considering putting wood of any type into the floor of an all composite boat.  If you retained the piece that you cut out, you can reuse it.  Otherwise, I'd spring for a piece of composite material of appropriate thickness to put back in its place.  

Post some pictures to show us exactly what you're working with.  Biax is good stuff, but is thick and does not go around corners well.  Additional layers of thinner cloth may be advantageous in certain spots.  If you do decide to go with biax throughout, 3 layers would be overkill.  I would probably opt for cloth at mat for a floor repair instead.

	I have removed the floor and foam from my 96 ski nautique and now need to order the materials to refoam and glass the floor back in. Can those "in the know" or someone that has done this before please assist me in the type of glass, epoxy and foam I will need :) I have a 2ft by 4ft section in front of the observers seat that I will plywood for strength otherwise will be glassing over foam back to original. With the help of other members posts/messages I have come up with a starter list 80lb kit of 4lb density foam 20 yards of 1708 biax in 50" width 5 gallons of epoxy medium hardener 10 yards of 1708 tape (to close the battery box and cooler box off from the bilge area as I believe lots of water entered from a tracking fin leak and soaked the bow foam) roller and brush suggestions?????? I plan on doing 3 layers and am wondering what thickness this will give me as the original average is 1/8" with about 1/4 inch near observers seat. Any help would be greatly appreciated...really want to do this as close or better than original and get back on the water!
