It ended up being the toggle switch for the horn. It was stuck in the closed position. The horn was not working, so it took a while to figure it out.
Thanks! |

Running voltage should be 13.9 or so and engine off voltage should be 12.6 unless you are running one of the AGM batteries and they seem to read 12.9 volts engine off.

Bert,
There are plenty of threads on the alarm problems. Since they were unreliable and problematic, most will just disconnect them and rely on the gauges. You also may want to look into (plenty of threads) running heavier gauge wiring up to the dash. |

We have a 1990 Ski Nautique w/ PCM 351 Ford engine and breakerless ignition kit.
When running at idle and low speed, the voltage meter on the dash indicates slightly less than 12 volts which causes an alarm to beep constantly. Am thinking it used to be closer to 13 volts. The battery is good and is fully charged. It has been a while since I worked on the boat and could use some guidance to troubleshoot the issue. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. |
