Unless the number was pulled early and the boat was finished late (which certainly is possible but not super likely) it is most likely a 68 and an early one at that. 2280 was a 68 built in 9/67. Pics will tell the rest of the story!

Pretty sure it's M2268.

Tell us the hull number (M-xxxx), post some pics and we can give you a pretty good guess. There were a number of details that changed for '69. The seat frame spacing should be consistent on all the 69+ aluminum frames, the 68 and earlier seats were very different... But it wouldn't be he first 68 I've seen that got its seats replaced with new versions when the boat was ~10 years old.

I can certainly do that. The seat locations appear to have been moved at one point, so the new locations may have also necessitated new seats with newer knobs. CC believes my boat is a 68 or 69 though.

Jim, post a picture of your entire seat... That knob is the mid 70's through early 80's version... '69 would have had chromed metal, not plastic. Might want to change the title if the post if looking for the latter!

Looking for a threaded plastic nut for securing the removable front seats in my CC Mustang. Only missing (need) one.
