NAUTIQUE! Automatic transmission fluid... I think its Dexron 2, but you'll need to do a search to find some other posts to confirm.

the exhaust manifold and riser do fill up with stuff, pull the plug out and probe the manifold with a wire or pick until you get water out.   depending on the order you pulled the plugs in, there may have been no water in that particular spot, but I would back probe to be sure. the "duct" is a hose, and is not likely needing to be pulled until you confirm that there is a real issue.   its a pain in the neck from what I understand, and several dollars a foot.   replace as needed, but inspection is necessary before you just decide to replace a bunch of stuff. exhaust manifold gaskets are cheap if you do end up needing to pull the manifold and riser, you will need riser gaskets too if you get that far in.   lots of rusted exhaust manifold bolts break, so it's a job best left for when necessary, instead of recreational wrenching :)

Good day (again). I just posted about engine oil for my 1976 Natik 351. This post is about the tranny oil, and the exhaust heads. What type of tranny oil should I be using when replacing, and how often? And the second question is regarding the exhaust heads, if that is indeed what they are called??? They are mounted high, and have 4" ducts coming off of them (exhaust ducts). So, my concern is this . . . last fall when I winterized the boat, I pulled about 10 or so drain plugs out/off the engine and parts. when I pulled the drain plug off of the port exhaust head, no water came out, and upon inspection, the hole was plugged up with black crap. I do not know if I have a legitimate concern here, but should I pull the exhaust head for inspection and cleaning, or not worry about it? If I do pull the head, I would obviously need to disconnect the duct. Will I need to replace the duct? As it is hard and old? Am I going to be opening up a can of worms? Will there be a head gasket that I will need to replace? Anyone with experience here, I would greatly appreciate your input and advise. Thank you in advance!
