Let me know if another one come up that you are interested in. We have a tone of them here! I had to go up your way to get my Sport Nautique. The later models are hard to come by.

I don't know of any available but in hopes of assisting in your search... You have 2 rudder options. 1)buy a new tabbed rudder... There are a few part numbers to choose from but you want the direct driver version with the 1-1/4" port. $$$. 2) the original rudder is a 11a, and came in most 18'+ direct drive cc's starting in 1970.

Eric, The ARE prop shaft is a double taper design. (taper for the prop and taper at the trans coupling) Many here including myself have used it. It greatly reduces R&R of the shaft. The original single taper shaft is a interference fit at the trans coupling that requires heat shrinking the coupling to the shaft. The ARE system cost is about the same you would pay for a single taper. Here's a link to the ARE explaning how it works. |

Wow! You do have a project ahead of you. Keep us informed and the pictures coming. If the prop was trashed, I'd say there's a good chance the shaft is too. Don't forget the strut ether. On the shaft, I suggest an ARE replacement.

Prop was trashed. significant damage to port side from 6" to almost the wind shield. Need to figure out if drive shaft was damaged.

Eric,
Since the rudder shaft is in two pieces, then I'd have to say you do need a new or used rudder. I would not suggest a repair. What other damage was done to the boat? Pictures? |

The rudder is broken in two at the base of the port. most likely part of the accident that damaged the boat. Port does not appear damaged.

Eric,
Whats wrong with your rudder and port? Repair is an option depending on whats wrong. |

I need a rudder for a 76 Ski Nautique. I have both parts so repair is an option. Would like feedback on that.
