This may still be for sale, but doesn't sound like what you are looking for based on this part of the original post. Welcome to the site, fill us in on your boat and what you're looking for, there may be others that are looking to sell something, or have one sitting around.

I am guessing "book rate" is media mail? If so- they have 1000% clamped down on that. I shipped a box with a magazine in it and it no longer qualified because it had advertising in it. I can say a transmission would not count as "media". I will ship it if someone wants to pay the freight. Just suggesting pick up.

Surprisingly, when I shipped my for rebuild from North Carolina to Ohio, it only cost about $65 (about a dollar per pound). If I recall, I shipped it book rate/ground via the US Postal Service.

I have a velvet drive 1018 1:1 transmission I recently bought. It is seized up they guy said when I bought it. I planned on rebuilding it- but I bought a 454 and that engine came with a trans that worked. This one has been media blasted and repainted. You can see it looks great! I am asking what I have in it- This is a nice core to use for a rebuild. this thing weighs a TON! Man o man these are heavy. If anyone is in the Tampa Area or at a reunion in Florida- that would be the time to get it. $150 not shipped
