Mine does that too. it got to the point that eventually it just stayed at empty. Turned out the sender was bad. Replaced the sender and that helped, but still bounces. So, you may just want to use a VOM to test the sender first to make sure you get good resistance from 33-240 ohms.

But, it would be helpful to know year of boat and type of sender.

Gage not reading correct and bouncing. What do I need to do here. Electrical issues I have no clue.
