100ll from the airport, it's cheaper than race gas and stays good forever. It also takes care of the lead substitute issue

Appreciate the input-NO Pete haven't been sucked into the "snake oil" sales pitch-I am a firm believer in Marvel mystery oil and good old STP.Between the ethanol and lack of lead in good old gasoline, I am going to try and locate a source for racing fuel in my area.

I use Lucas Oil's "Fuel Treatment" and find it to be great stuff. From their website: Lucas Fuel Treatment should definitely be used in vehicles that require leaded fuel because it actually replaces the benefits of lead in gasoline without causing harmful emissions.
Marvel Mystery Oil also works as an upper cylinder lubricant when mixed with gasoline. JQ |

Jim,
I agree with all the rest. It's a waste of money. Save the money for when the time comes to do a top end job on it. Did you know Billy Mays used to hark the stuff? Is someone trying to push the stuff on you???BTW, do you remember the marine white gas? Do you know what it was? It was straight run gas with absolutely NO additives! The stuff NEVER hurt any of our old antique and classic engines!  Hopefully you aren't wasting money putting the junk in the Cavalier???

We used it for years in the 64, but then had the heads re-built. Not sure if it really had all that much impact.
Definitely make sure you get an oil with ZDDP content higher then 1200 ppm. I guess, I am just assuming your going to change the oil - HA! |

^^^ I'd agree. Dads the original owner of his '75 Waukesha. He always ran lead substitute religously up until ~15 years ago. 15 years later it's still as strong as a 40 year old original motor can be.

Don't waste your money on it. It takes a long time for the seats to wear out. By then you will have saved enough money (from not buying that stuff) to rebuild the heads with hardenend seats.

Pulling the 67 Barracuda out of mothballs to run this summer.My concern is the 318 Fury(chrysler) ,cautions the use of leaded gasoline.Anyone use the many lead substitues on the market?,and do they work? Thanks
