Compression and inverted flare are definitely not the same. I struck out on carb/fuel line fittings at multiple hardware stores.

This is likely going to be something you get from summit racing, They would certainly have an adapter that got from the carb to something more common.

Looks like the same size/style for Quadrajet fuel line.Any place that makes hydraulic lines should be able to hook you up with them.I went to local Napa had them make up straight line and bent to fit from carb to pump.

i know that some carb fuel fittings will allow a pipe thread to thread on because the pitch is close, and i have seen people do this and put tef tape on them which is WRONG. all lines should seat on a flare or flat seal.

I have a carter sitting right here and i think it has what you are describing. now i know what you meant by inverted flare on the CARB side. the male end of this is designed to fit a flared tube with fitting. I dont know that you will get a 90* in that because you can bend the tubing to 90*
is this what you have?

I am not sure if AN is the proper thread. Advance auto and SkiDIM both identify the double flare fitting as "inverted flare". No such moniker at McMaster, maybe there's a another proper term? It's the same used on brake lines.

Could always call Fln-Mar in Holyoke Ma or McGill Hose in East Longmeadow Ma. They were the to go-to hose & fitting suppliers when I worked at my uncles logging outfit.

Bruce, a decent auto parts store may be your best bet. The inverted flare fittings are used on brake lines. I found an oddball fitting like that at my local advance this weekend, couldn't find anything online.

I bought a fuel line from DIM and they sent me fittings that do not fit the engine I want to use this on. It's going on a 318 with Carter AFB. This is the fitting they gave me. What I need is the 3/8" JIC 37 tube thread as is shown, but rather than the NPT thread on the end that had the sealant, I need it to be 5/16 inverted tube thread.   Anyone know who might have one of these? A 90 degree would be great, but straight would work also. I can't find one at McMaster Carr.
