Where to cut??

   I just replace the floor from the engine forward. I used an 4 1/2 in angle grinder with metal cutoff blades. do not cut near the side of the boat I think you will run the risk of cutting through to the outside. I cut about a foot or more from any side. My floor came loose at the sides just by lifting them up from where I cut near the center. Just be careful and you will be fine.

	The where part and the how part...yes do check out 79skinautique's photos...I must say, that's the finest stringer & floor job I have seen. I remember when it was posted earlier....wow!

	I understand you asked where not how, but I had good success zip tying my garden hose nozzle to a pnumatic cutoff wheel/ die grinder that had a clear guard. Aimed a small stream of water at the wheel and this supressed all dust into a water slurry I could hose out or pick up with the shop vac. No itchies, cuts like butter. Wear ppe of course.

	Check out the pics of when I did my 79. They may help you as far as where to cut. I used a 4 inch grinder with a cut off wheel to remmove the top layer of the floor. http://www.79skinautique.zoomshare.com

	i did it like '79 is planning on doing it. i bought a dremmel fiberglass cutter and used that for all the cutting. a true circular saw would have made for a much quicker job

	what I plan to do on a project boat is use a circular saw and adjust the blade depth to about 1/4"-3/8" and cut parallel to the edge of the stringers about a 1/4" in, leaving a vertical section of the orginal fiberglass as a reference for the height and doing the same along the freeboard but offsitting it about 1/2" or so to allow for the tapper of the hull and peeling off the top layer or fiberglass layer of the floor then going from there as needed.

	Floor replacement seems to be VERY well covered on the CCfan board but I have a question that i cant seem to find the answer to. If it's been discussed please excuse me and refer me to it, but if not........ im getting ready to start on the whole floor/foam replacement saga and id like to know if/how the floor is attached to the stringers and where's the best place to start cutting to avoid ruining floor supports just in case some are still ok. Any advice is greatly apreciated. THX Zack
