It may be chrome plated brass as well. The late 60]s to early 70's was a transitional period. What's your concern if it's stainless?

A ground goes from that tab to the deck mounted filler pipe thru one of filler pipe mounting screws too.

well all grounds end up at the battery,normally you would bond to a buss bar somewhere usually under the dash. Your stern light needs to be grounded too. A ground goes from that tab to the deck mounted filler pipe thru one of filler pipe mounting screws too. Mine has a dash mounted gas gauge so there is a ground on the sender also.

I am restoring a 1970 16" Mustang. While assembly, I noticed a ground wire from a tab on the fuel tank.. Does it get grounded to the battery?
