Are you sure it is not a vapor lock? Sounds like once it cools off it starts up again.

If your concerned your loosing spark hook a timing light up to one of the cylinders. If your getting spark the light should blink, if it doesn't your not getting spark. Let it cool down and see if the light will blink.

Remember this only happens after engine is hot and been running for an hour or so.

Most likely issue is it is getting too much fuel and is too flooded to restart - cranking with the throttle held wide open would start it and confirm that to be the issue. If that isn't the issue or you have used a tester to verify you have no spark come back for the alternative theorys.

After my engine gets hot and I shut it down usually will not start. What is mostly likely to fail when hot, coil, points, condenser? Definitely getting fuel.
