If only the internals or block is cracked I would buy a long block engine and reuse all the components that could be reusable on the new block (carb intakeman oilpan ect). I bought my remanufacture at rapidomarine.com

It looks like my current engine may be shot on my '87 SN 2001. I'm going to talk to the mechanic, to see what the repair options but he already mentioned about $2,000 in parts. I want to see what my options are for replacing the engine. I've looked at the Jasper site. Are there any other places that I should look at? Thanks!
