I would check the fuel vent for clogging or for a collapsed vent line hose.

Sounds like a visit to the Poor Man's GT40 troubleshooting guide is in order. I'll toss my guess to check the anti-siphon valve. I don't know if that thing if plugged up would prevent the tank from venting but that might explain why it was really hard to fill up.

Grab your self the Actron and put on the fuel rail. Just leave it on, Zip tie it to the water line. When it starts to act up take a look at the pressure. Should stay steady at 39ish.
Drain the FCC into a 24 ounce or larger jar. Is there water in the drained out gas? I also had a similar issue due to the rubber cover not on the cap and wires and the spark plug wires were cross talking to the TFI-IV and messing it up. |

Have you checked the little fuel line inside the FCC?

It did overheat, ran fine Friday but didn't really do too much and also ran great for the most part Saturday till the end.... Just surprised at how well it ran Sunday just before it started doing this!

I really need some help with my 99 Pro Air Nautique with the GT-40.I have had nothing but problems this year but have all been pretty easy to fix until now.
This past weekend I took it out and was running fine on Friday, ran good for the most part Saturday but started to die out under power but would pick right back up about 2 seconds later. Started to rain so took it back the the dock and that was pretty much it. Sunday, took it out and was running like a champ, went to get gas and they had a hard time filling the boat, worse than it already was but its always been a pain. Left the marina idled out fine, got into the gas it stumbled and cut off and made a gasping sound out the intake. Fired right back up and did the same thing, started it again and put it in neutral and revved it up and it was fine, put it in gear it skipped really bad and died. Pulled the gas cap off to check for a vacuum, left it off and gave it gas, same thing happened again it died...... any ideas where to go next? Recently put new plugs, 60 and 15 amp circuit breakers, exhaust tubes, and impeller. Thanks in advance!! |
