OK, I ran a new 8 gauge wire from the battery to the ignition. It had a 10 gauge on it. I wanted to run a 4 gauge but the connectors on the dash would not fit that size wire with other items also connecting.
I'll see this Friday if it fixed the issue. |

Silly question: where is the FAQ thread in the maintenance section? I can't find that!

It was installed by a car audio installer in Houston called Maximum Audio. They have done many boats before and are a WetSounds authorized dealer. I'll look at the FAQ. Thanks! |

Check the FAQ thread in the maintenance section. There are multiple links to the up grade feed to the dash. Who installed the sound system? |

It's just running a better cable from the battery to the dash, shouldn't be too difficult.

Is that a huge job? Something the stereo installer can do for me or does it require a "boat guy"? If there is structural parts that must be removed then I doubt he can do it.

its is definitely a low voltage issue cause by an insufficient feed to the dash from the battery. The perfect pass is very voltage sensitive, and it draws a fair amount of current. The best solution is to replace the wiring feeding your ignition switch with something larger and with a direct connection to the battery.

My wife gave me a new bluetooth stereo to replace the broken Clarion that was in the boat when we purchased it. The new stereo is by Boss Audio. Nothing fancy since I don't have a tower. We really just wanted some music when we're cruising slowly and stopped to swim.
Here's the issue: when the motor is running and the stereo is on, the Perfect Pass will cycle and beep constantly. It's like it is turning off and back on each time. When I look at the volt meter, it seems to be fluctuating all over the place. The stereo sounds good though even when this is happening. When the motor is off, the stereo plays fine and we enjoy it! No annoying beeps! The installer hooked this up so the stereo can be turned on when the ignition switch is pushed to on. Should it be on an accessory switch? If so, which one? I'm not familiar with them other than #1 turns on my 12V plug port. |
