Welcome Wayne,you have found the right place for help.When you get a chance,post up some pictures of your boat. If you are talking about where the shaft passes thru the strut right in front of the prop that is called the cutlass. It is water lubricated and that is why it is important not to put it in gear when out of the water. You should grab the prop and see if the shaft moves sideways or up and down in that bearing. Too much movement and it needs to be replaced

There aren't any since both the cutlass and the shaft gland packing are water lubricated. Welcome to CCfan. We'd love pictures. |

hi. can anyone out there help me.. i do not see any grease zerts or oiling spots for my propeller shaft on a 1970 correct craft skier. what is the suggested maint. thanks wayne
