It sure does sound like it is time for a new switch. There are two types, so make sure you know which one you need before ordering...but it is probably just old vs. new style.
Very easy to change....takes minutes. |

My neutral safty switch has always worked but at times it works sporadically. There have been instances where it will start in gear and there are times (more frequent) where it prevents me from starting even though i'm out of gear and ready to start.
In the latter situation i can put it in gear through the trottle down, pull it back to neutral and it seems to retrigger the switch and get it acting properly again. Linkage to transmision gear indicator appear good and wires all appear good. Has anyone else experienced this. I was wondering if its a sign of the switch going bad. All comments appreciated Jerry |
