Essentially phishing is so successful that crooks are just focusing on that vs. creating viruses these days. We are implementing phishing training at work, which includes creating and sending spoof phishing campaigns to the company to see who bites and I'm shocked at how many people fall for the test emails, giving away some of their most important logins right away. It's extremely important and urgent that companies start doing phishing training (and WiFi Scam training) to protect their assets.

Kinda hard to believe a guy who'd couldn't be fooled by marking ads to use sub par penetrating oil would email someone in Nigeria his social security # and credit card information..

Good thing you realized this was a scam before they ordered a few cases of Fram Oil filters and PB blast!

Don't every put personal information in an email. If you think it may be a real alert go to the actual website. Don't follow their links either.

Thankfully I caught it in time, called my credit card company and cancelled the account. Thankfully there were no phony charges on the card. Yesterday I entered personal information in the link provided in a phony email! It looked like a PayPal email but wasn't!! I called PayPal and was told they are getting lots of these calls from people like me. Be cautious to say the least. PayPal pshing scam
