I used toilet bowl bolts from ace hardware part #46744, you need 5 packs. They are brass T-bolts with washers and nuts, throw the washers and nuts away they look like stainless but are not. While your there get your self some SS 1/4 x 20 locking nuts and fender washers. Also they have rubber washers next to the T-bolts part # 40202 you need 3 packs. a note on the T-bolts they are 1/4 x 20 and 2-1/4 long, the heads are a little oval and will have to be ground down also the threads on the sides till they fit in the slot.

The finish on the 75 and early 76 always intrigued me. Where'd the texture come from?

Under each front section you'll find 3 bolts per each, 6 total across the front. Each side glass will have 2. Nut is 3/8" or maybe 11/32". If you are a lucky person, all 10 nuts will come off. Otherwise you will probably break all the bolts.
Paint - Rustoleum Satin Black New Seal - Camper Seal foam seal tape. New T-Bolts - There are some other threads in here that may have some info on where to find t-bolts. Other - Have a helper, and lift straight up. and be careful. also, while it's off would be a great time to inspect and tighten all other screws in the windshield frame. |

The non-safe ones can be used if you're careful. Just work in small areas and don't let it sit too long. Probably will be some sanding involved near the end.

I personally have never found a paint stripper that was safe to use. Many will say safe for fiberglass, and Corvette forums will recommend certain ones. I have tried them and while safe for fiberglass they do in fact dissolve gel coat. Best way for me has been ,while tedious,is sanding |

What would you use to strip the paint off without harming the gel coat?

Actually, 1975 was the one year CC painted the dash black. They matched the rest of the deck through '74 and were gelled black starting in '76.
I don't have any paint recommendations though. I'd be tempted to strip the existing paint and see how the gel looks before committing to repainting it. |

Not original. The dash color change to the deck should me smooth without a bump. Paint was never an option.
