Alana,
The hose off the top of the Velvet connects to the forward/front of the cooler and the hose off the bottom connects to the aft/rear of the cooler. The top trans hose is the supply/out and the bottom is the return/in. FYI, this counter flows (opposite directions) the oil and water keeping the delta T (temperature difference) to the max giving the maximum heat transfer. Welcome to CCfan. You found the best site for your classic CC. When you get a chance, we'd love to see some pictures and tell us more about the boat. A diary entry is also welcomed too. |

Hello,
I was hoping someone could clarify which hose attaches where from the transmission to the transmission cooler. I recently replaced my lines and want to make sure its correct. I have a 1974 Ski Nautique 351 Ford Windsor Borg Warner Velvet drive Transmission So when sitting in the stern of the boat facing the bow of the boat and looking down at the engine/transmission there are two spots to attach the tranny hoses: One is pretty much on top of the tranny The other is much lower/right side of the tranny The cooler has one spot to attach toward front of cooler/front of boat and another toward back of the back of the cooler/boat. The cooler is on the left side of the motor in a almost horizontal position with the part closest to front of the boat angled a little higher. I believe I hooked it up with the longer hose from the lower right side of tranny to the very front of the cooler. Does anyone know if that is correct? Thanks for any help. Alana |
