Need help with trans/shaft alignment

My fault I guess, but I was told to remove it WITH the mounts. I keep learning the hard way.

I know not to run it without it being in water. But with all the problems I've had, I only ran it in gear long enough to see if it would rotate since our nearest lake is 30 minutes away. It was about 10 seconds.

But so how do I go about aligning the shaft? Do I have to pull the strut off to do this? Sorry if I'm an idiot, but I can't find instructions anywhere.

I searched the archives about this but I'm still a little confused.

I just rebuilt my V-drive trans, with the mounts on it to keep it aligned, and re-installed it. I connected the prop shaft, started it, and I've got vibration at all rpm's. I can't run it long enough in the driveway to try to diagnose all angles, so what can I do? Do I need to pull the strut to align it better? There is no play in the strut with the shaft. There was no vibration before, and the trans was all I pulled out. Could it be a bad damper plate now? What will that hurt to run it like that? I don't want it to vibrate itself to another rebuild. Thanks for any help.
