Have you been arguing with a neighbor or someone else who may have access to an 8 gallon bucket or two 4 gallon buckets ?

I have a mystery water leak:
I can't find it. If I take my boat out for a spin and look at all of the engine piping and hoses, including exhaust, I see no leaks. I park the boat and go out the next 2 days, I manually remove about 8 gals. of water each day. If I leave for a couple of days after emptying twice, the bilge has taken on no new water. The shaft and rudder packing so are new, the shaft drips a little, but no way 8 gals. overnight. It's like the engine block is draining but there is no leak I can find. Freeze plugs are good. Motor runs 160 degrees underway. If it were exhaust hoses near transom, wouldn't they leak always, since they are below the waterline? 1976 CC Mustang 307 RR 20 hours on new motor |
