I had the same experience. In the end, I gave my system away -- just asked the recipient to pay shipping costs.

Good to know. Yeah I would just love for someone to be able to use it for parts.
I was having issues with the TBI, the o-rings were bad and fuel was pouring in to the engine. Im sure it could have been fixed. But after reading about the protec problems I decided to just remove it all and I've got to say I'm extremely happy with how the boat runs now. |

He probably bought Ford ProTecs. I think Steve knows he has a standard gear, now. He bought a reverse rotation DUI the first time... #reverserotationblues

Steve, your "Spares" have a standard rotation big block gear. Nothing special there. Cam in BBC rotates the same way as a standard rotation BBC.

I gave my system away a couple of weeks ago, it was about $30 shipping to get it to the new owner in TN. there was a guy with a 94 looking for spare injectors a couple of days ago, might be worth connecting with him to see if he can use your TBI? Might be helpful to know why you removed, was it problematic?

As a guy who had a working Pro-Tec and bought these from folks "just in case", I will tell you the market is limited - I paid for shipping plus maybe a few bucks. I think the only real value in someone else's trouble is that you could possibly save the trigger gear (dizzy gear) to re-use. Also, the coil packs have different reference #s for 454 vs 351 Pro-Tecs..... so not sure that they are interchangeable. The most payback might be selling just the reverse rotation trigger gear on EBay..... That's what I'm gonna do with my "spares".
I have had 3 "used" ones hanging around and after fussing with them, I went straight to DUI. I am so glad I did. |

Not sure if anyone has a use for any of these parts but I figured it was worth a shot before I throw them away..
I recently removed the TBI system and Protec ignition on my 1994 sport. Make me an offer and ill send you the box of parts I've got. |
