little more torque than 30 ft lbs.
1-1/8" nut is a jam nut and does not effect the alignment. You have to turn the jack screw that the 1-1/8 nut is on. There is a square section on to of the jack screw that you turn to raise and lower the mounting point.

I rebuilt the tranny a while back. I loosened the alignment bolts to help get the tranny out. I'm not sure I got it lined up propperly.
I followed the feeler gauage 0.003 method but I don't see how that will tell me if I need to move the engine/tranny left/right/up/down. All I see that doing is telling me if the mounting surfaces are true or warpped. Am I missing something here?
Also, I can't seem to find the torque specs for the four shaft/tranny coupling bolts and the main 1-1/8" vertical mounting nut. Does anybody know or know where to look it up? I figure 30 ft-lbs on the shaft bolts ought to be good.
