I am in Folsom, we have our own lake to worry about but are 60 miles from Oroville.
If this dam lets go most of downtown Sacramento will be under water. Odd thing is that in 1986 we had a tremendous amount of rain and Oroville did not come close to overflowing. Today we have nearly 20 feet of snow in our mountains, if we get a warm rain coming through that melts that snow we are toast in the Valley. I could launch from our back yard. It looks like we will be OK but rain is expected again this week. Thanks for checking on us. Mark |

Holy cow. 48 years since the dam was constructed to hold back 700 feet of water, the spillways are trying to keep up with the massive rains of last month. They've had to evacuate over 100,000 folks downstream from the potential floodwaters if this thing lets go!
Any CCF'ers affected? Details on the dam |
