I got mine on ebay also. Have it for 2 years now, and it still looks great.

Keno, I read this thread and remembered your mention of this cover. My boat sits in our garage most of the time but sometimes I need the space to work on projects.
I want to go through the transfer case on our Yukon and we may still get some rain here.
I ordered in one of the covers you mentioned and my thought was for $45.00 if it works once I will be happy. I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of this very cheap cover.   It fits our 95 pretty well. The only bad area is right behind the nose. It droops like it has jowels but fits the rest of the boat really well including the sloped rear deck.. But for $45. what can you expect. I sprayed it with a hose and it repels water great.    It is not a fitted pretty cover but for what I needed it offers good protection from the weather if I have to put it outside for a week or two.
I ordered the black cover which I think was a mistake, it looks great but will add a lot of heat and shows all dirt and dust.
I have the factory cotton cover which is great for keeping dust out of the boat and I have tried the tarp cover over this in the past with sometimes good and sometimes bad results. My Tarp leaked last time I used it so for the cost of a new tarp I got a cover that fits much better and is faster to install.
Thanks for the tip.
Mark

A whole bunch of people will probably flame me for this but if you want something that works to keep the weather out and is CHEAP find one on EBAY that's made of 600 denier polyurethane coated fabric. They do a good job of keeping the water out when propped up, definitely aren't the greatest breathing things ever made, have straps and did I say CHEAP.

Here's an EBAY example

EBAY cover

I bought one similar to this a few years back figuring it didn't cost much more than a piece of green tarp and maybe it would last a year or so..

It lives outside in the winter and the rest of the year too and has survived remarkably well

For what you say you're looking for it's worth a shot. You could put it right over your other cover if you wanted.

Not nearly the quality of a Sunbrella custom fit, but you might be surprised how good a job it does

That's the CHEAP solution for me.

$500 +/- will buy a pretty nice custom fit sunbrella cover from Angola or Skiboatcovers. Spending significantly less will sacrifice quality quite a bit- in terms of fit, features (reinforcements, breathability) and longevity. I've tried all of the cheap (sub-$200) covers and you really get what you pay for.

I just bought the boat and have already put money in new seat cushions and other aspects right now and just want to get a cover that will work for now.  If i decide to keep it longer than this season then I will consider getting a custom but that is what is on their from the previous owner and it is not blocking anything at this point.  I am going to try using scotchgard on it this weekend but with rain coming up in the forecast every day I was wanting to put something on it to block if that didn't work without spending a ton.

Picked one up from Menards for winter months storage. It's been about 3 years now with no issues. I used some 1-1/4" gas pipe to create 3 arches and strapes the cover to the trailer to repel water. So far so good.

No idea what boat you have, a guy posted a decent cover on PN recently for right around your budget, fit's 98-02 sport/air w/tower.,Another option maybe you can get lucky and find something on EBay if you are patient. On a fast track I agree with Todd, get a tarp and some rope or bungees until you find or can afford what you really need.

Seems my boat cover is not working too well at repelling the rain last night as my cushions are pretty wet so looking to get a cover without breaking the bank. I don't need one that is custom fit to fit to the snaps, i am fine with it strapping to the trailer. I am looking to potentially pick something up asap locally or order online with quick shipping. Let me know what you guys suggest and please save the comments about it being worth the money to buy a custom one. That is not an option right now.
