Yup, fingers crossed.

I do also give them a lot of credit for the re-design to rear-facing passenger seat. The seatback is exactly matched dimensionally to the original port dash panel as well as perfectly matching the driver dash, with nice storage in the base. they also beveled/cut the corner, which makes for movement within and egress to the often-used bow walk quite easy.

It's probably all good Jeff.   I can't think of any better way to fasten that seat back without hiring an Elf or Tiny Elvis to get in there with a tiny screw gun.   CC made most things quick and easy to service.

I have PO's original invoice (2009) , complete all new interior....plywood, foam, and vinyl.
Plus stringer repair, flotation foam, new floor, and new carpet. Indy Covers, appears to be a reputable marine upholstery and cover shop (apparently since moved to TN). So presumably not a hack..although how they re-attached rear seatback remains to be seen......and hopefully not necessary...

thanks for the info, if i do have to get in there i hope it's that simple.

My symptom was a slight stumble out of the hole.

But back to your seat back, yes there are 3 lag bolts sticking out of the transom gunwale.
While in your upholstered plywood seat back there are 3 aluminum plates w/ a keyhole.
So, for seat back install,   align keyholes w/ lags, push in then straight down.   to remove (take bottom screws out first) then pull seat back straight up, then out.

(unless some backwoods clown moron was doing some totally custom deluxe hacking back there, let's hope that's not the case)

Thanks will check bottom first, although suspect also perhaps attached at top, pad pretty much rock-solid to deck.

Curious...did symptoms that led to your rusty spring issue gradually get worse, or rapid onset?

Thinking further, did manage to get reasonably smooth (minus the occasional fart), after some throttle finesse, but then every bridge, once back out, had to start process over....

Would that be another clue? Just can't get past the pre- vs- post-fill performance,. still being fill-related.....

Pull out seat bottom.   Should be 2 maybe 4 screws along bottom strip of seat back.   Remove screws, lift straight up then out.

Check your Distributor advance springs while your at it.

I was chasing what I could have swore was a fuel issue, turned out to be Rusty Advance Springs.

Took out first time of season, been sitting maybe 9 months. Fired right up and ran like new for an hour or so,, smooth as silk. Had 3/4 tank old gas in it, ran it down to 1/4. Filled tank, shortly thereafter ran like crap, bogging out,etc. Presumably stirred up some crap in tank whilst filling......plan A: go run/blow it out a bit and see if it clears up. If not, Plan B would be related to fuel filter, pickup tube, anti-siphon valve...gotta be fuel related or it wouldn't have run so well before fill up. Anything else I'm not thinking of?

Have never had rear seat back out, PO had boat reupholstered, so who knows how it was actually re-attached. Before I go poking around, first can someone tell me at least how the original seatback would have been attached, what type fasteners, where, and at how many points?

(been trying to post photos, either there will be repeats or none at all. Been a while, used to just upload from computer photos file, has something changed?)
