I’m jealous. The lake was pure glass on Saturday. I went out in the kayak and retrieved all the neighbors buoys that we’re yanked by retreating ice.

Hope to rally the neighbors to put the dock in around April 7.

Ny depends a lot on lake size these days, The deeper ones are starting to get to be rare for them to freeze complete., I live in a shallow cove and usually one of the first and last spots to support ice fishing but this year we didn't have a single day that would have supported weight - although it did skim over for a week or two in February. Fishermen have been out in pretty good for the last 4 weekends. Unfortunately the changing spring water levels will keep my docks/hoists/boats out for a while.

March is best snow skiing month for sure. Lots of snow and long days.

Ice is off Sebago and there maybe water skiers out there by the end of the month. Some people snow ski and water ski on the same day.

Tim, after a few months of warm weather, a lot of us look forward to cool weather.

Hollywood you're probably the only exception to the rule....Knowing you...... You probably hit the water with trunks and a heater shirt.

Haven't hit the water yet but next Thursday for sure!

Boat and Waterski season is about to start down here in the south Bruce. March to Mid November is the norm around here and that's without a dry suit. Y'alls season is so short up there you don't have much of a choice BUT to snow ski.

I'd go snow skiing but then I'd have to wear pants to do it and I don't think my body would know how to react to it. Shorts, T-shirts and flip-flops for me year round!

Nothing says living up north like being glad that winter is finally settling in in mid March.

The first one (last week) had high winds after drenching rain, causing lots of downed trees and power outages. It hit eastern Pa, central Nj Friday afternoon so much of the disruption was over the weekend, This week we were hit Wednesday with 15" of snow in PA and 12" in Princeton NJ where I work. Areas of northern NJ got 24". The NJ snow was heavier and wreaked havoc on trees. Schools were closed Wed. Thursday and today in a lot of areas. We just got power back but other areas are still days away from restoration.

I'm trying to figure out why I left NC, Larry!

The first one was pretty bad in Boston. Thankfully, I'm a bit NW of there, so I was out of harms way. Lots of rain and wind, but we got no snow despite reports of 2-6" friday night into Saturday. Not nearly as bad as the wind and rain in southeast MA

Saturday was nice enough to get some stairs to my dock built and get my lifts into place before the water got much higher.

We got pounded with 16-18" of wet heavy snow Wednesday into Thursday. There were a lot of trees down, and power outages yesterday. None of it directly impacted me other than having to work from home yesterday because we had no power at the office.

Despite another storm, we'll be getting more daylight and the temperatures are creeping up.

I was not affected but...
Used to live in upstate NY, my sister still does. Talked to her last friday night. 23 inches and it was still coming. Out on Cape Cod where I lived after NY, 90 MPH winds farther out on the Cape and flooding in my old town of Sandwich. This was on the news, Scituate MA, between Cape Cod and Boston. Yeah, ask me how much I miss living up north.

Scituate

A few photos from the old home town.

Have any CCfan'rs been hit hard by the recent storms? And now I understand there's a potential for a third nor'easter to hit!!
